Voilà ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

“This is something I feel sufficiently concerned about that I am considering referring the matter to the Information Commissioner, with the request that he carry out a full scale inquiry into the implications of the Southall case and Laurance’s intimation that such practices may be widespread amongst practitioners in the sector.”

I wonder, belatedly, if you pursued this? It’s still a matter being reported on, most recently in Hansard.

in this case, southall was arguably principally responsible for getting the child removed from its parents temporarily; it is not so clear that such action is "in the best interest of the child".

secondly, the gmc transcript makes plain that southall's own notes of his interview with the mother make it fairly plain how he went over the "option" that the mother had drugged and murdered her child.

The fact that the social workers notes are at variance makes it 2:1 against the social worker. I also seem to recall that the GMC transcript records questioning of the social worker, along the lines if she knew that she wasn't meant to be investigating the death of the first child, since that was a matter exclusively reserved to the police.<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('24720','per'); return false;">Reply</a> | <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('24720','per','in this case, southall was arguably principally responsible for getting the child removed from its parents temporarily; it is not so clear that such action is \"in the best interest of the child\".\r\n\r\nsecondly, the gmc transcript makes plain that southall\'s own notes of his interview with the mother make it fairly plain how he went over the \"option\" that the mother had drugged and murdered her child. \r\n\r\nThe fact that the social workers notes are at variance makes it 2:1 against the social worker.

“Laurance is, here, using a combination of statistics, emotive language (‘witch hunt’) and innuendo to imply that those parents who do protest their innocence and complain, vocally, that the present system is unjust, unfair and lacking in transparency and accountability, are in reality nothing more than abusers seeking to undermine the system to cover up their crimes. If that is what he genuinely thinks then one wonder quite how he managed to restrain himself from going the whole hog and alleging that this is all the work of a mass, UK-wide, paedophile ring.”

There are other actions pending against Southall, are there not…? Perhaps the good doctor is saving this argument for one of the others.
